Service Detail: International Payments

Bank of St. Helena can effect payments in most world currencies, to most places, through its partership with Lloyds TSB Bank in London.

Payments in the UK can be made with 1-3 day value.  If your request is received before 1pm (local time = GMT) the bank can also effect same-day payment, at a small additional charge.

Payments outside the UK normally take 3-7 working days, but can often be sent 'express' for 1-3 day value, at a small additional charge.

The bank can also arrange for a cheque to be raised and despatched to your recipient.

IBAN (International Bank Account Numbers)

Please note that from 1^st February 2008 it is necessary to quote an IBAN for all payments to destinations within Europe but outside the UK.  If you do not know the IBAN for the payee account we can still make the payment but will require you to pay an additional charge, reflecting the additional fees charged to us for submitting a non-IBAN payment.
