Interest Rates
Bank of St. Helena Base Rate
All interest rates on accounts and loans are derived from the current Bank of St. Helena Base Rate.
Any change to the Bank of St. Helena Base Rate results automatically in a change to all other rates, by the same amount.

Notes:
1 | Interest paid annually on 1St April. |
2 | This is an indication and not a formal offer. All loans are subject to status and to Terms and Conditions which can be obtained from the bank. |
3 | It is not normally permitted to overdraw an account. If an overdraft occurs it must be corrected immediately. Interest will be charged at this rate until the overdraft has been cleared. |

Publication of Base Rate changes
When the bank needs to change the Base Rate it will publicise this change in the following ways:
By notice, displayed prominently in every office
By amending the page on its website where interest rates are displayed (this page).
The bank may also make known details of the change by other means, at its discretion, including announcements in the media.
Exchange Rates
Bank of St. Helena publishes its currency exchange rates by email. This service is free. They can also be downloaded from this site.

Normally rates are updated on the Thursday before they become applicable, and apply from the Monday following for that week. However, rates are subject to change without notice and other updates may be published. Therefore, for the avoidance of doubt, please note that this notice is for information only and does not constitute a guarantee to undertake transactions at the stated exchange rates.
