Tristan da Cunha Tristan da Cunha is part of the territory of St. Helena, and is often described as "the remotest island in the world". There is no airport, and no scheduled service by sea. Due to the lack of regular connection with the island Bank of St. Helena does not actually have a presence on Tristan, but the residents there, being defined as 'Saints', are entitled to use the services of the bank. Governor of St. Helena Michael Clancy visited Tristan for it's 500th Anniversary celebration in February 2006, on a special sailing of the RMS St. Helena. There are few websites that provide information about Tristan da Cunha. Probably the best source of reference is that of the Tristan Times. |
